What is handwriting?
Handwriting is an expressive psychomotor activity. It is an amalgam of psychological and neuro-physiological processes. Each handwriting is unique and reflects its writer’s personality.
How does graphology work?
Graphology consists in observing and analysing handwritings in order to understand the personality of the writer. Analysing handwritings is a complex process. It is based on the examination of the different variables pertaining to the fundamental constituents in handwritings: stroke, form, movement, and space. Once the most significant elements are identified, they are regrouped according to their meaning and interpreted to elaborate the psychological portrait of the writer.
It is the handwriting as a whole that needs to be examined, not only the shapes of a few isolated letters.
When passing from the observation of handwriting to its interpretation, we tie in personal experience, deductive reasoning, and analogy with a shared knowledge of graphological techniques, depth psychology, and the symbolism of handwriting.
What can we learn from it?
What can be expected from handwriting analysis is a description of your personality, mainly indications on the way you think, the way you act, the way you relate to others, and your motivations.
No graphologist can read your mind or guess your political leaning, but they should be able to tell, for example, whether you have strong rooted beliefs (whatever they are) or are more of a weather-cock.
So the writer’s portrait will draw a picture of the strong and weaker aspects of a person, including, to name a few: social capacities, independence, drive, willpower, perseverance, ambition, concentration, potential, improvisation, and flexibility.

- Genealogy/Psychogenealogy: sometimes we don’t know much about our ancestors, but if we are fortunate enough to possess notes or letters from them we can have access to their personality and learn more about who they truly were thanks to graphology.
